Joanne L. Stringer
Joanne L. Stringer, 64, of 1414 Jensen Road, died Thursday, September 19, 1996 at her home. She was born May 5, 1932 to George and Julia (Veum) Gunderson in Whitehall, Wisconsin. She was a 1950 graduate of Eau Claire Senior High School. Joanne married William “Bill” Stringer on June 27, 1953 in Chimney Rock. She was a past Department of Wisconsin President and past Chapter President of the American Gold Star Mothers; a past president of American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #53; a member of The DAV Auxiliary #10; and Grace Lutheran Church, and a volunteer at the M.B. Syverson Lutheran Home gift shop.
Survivors include her husband Bill; and a daughter Pamela of Altoona. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David in 1983, and brother George in 1971.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastor Barbara A. Koch officiating. Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery, Mondovi. Friends may call from 4 - 8 P.M. Sunday at Lenmark-Gomsrud Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
The family requests memorials be directed to Grace Lutheran Church.
