Arthur E. Taylor, age 86, passed away on September 4, 2013 at Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Eau Claire.
He was born on October 13, 1926 in York, Pennsylvania to Arthur and Mary (Stahl) Taylor. He married the love of his life, Donna Vefald, while stationed in Washington DC during World War Two. After serving four years in the Navy he came to Eau Claire (Donna's home town) where he attended Eau Claire State College. He graduated in 1952 with a major in Broad Field Science and a minor in Chemistry. He spent his working life in advertising at various companies in Minnesota, Nebraska, Virginia, Michigan, and Ohio. Art is survived by his wife of 68 years Donna, daughter Sue and her husband Gene, two grandchildren and their spouses, and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister and sister-in-law, plus three nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by parents, parents-in-law, two brothers-in-law and other dear relatives. He enjoyed life and relished the pursuit of new knowledge and interests. He was especially interested in science and computers. Most of all he treasured time spent with his wife and family whom he loved dearly.
Graveside services with military honors will take place at 11 am on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Northern Wisconsin Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI. Pastor James Whatley of Peace Lutheran Church in Eau Claire will officiate.
