Anton Funeral set today at St. Joseph's.

Funeral services will be held for Mrs. Anna Anton at 9am Wednesday, July 8, with Msgr. George P. Aberle officiating. The church choir will sing with Sister Erulitia at the organ.
Mrs. Anton, a pioneer resident of the area was born in Motoch, Hungary, April 14, 1869, daughter of Peter and Anna Welde. She died at the home of her son Nick Anton Sr., July 5, from complications of old age. She was ill about two months.

Mrs. Anton came to the United States in 1892, and homesteaded 8 miles south of Gladstone and retired and moved into Gladstone in 1933. She came into Dickinson to live in 1939.

She was married to Jacob Anton in Josefalva, Hungary, in 1889. He proceeded her in death in 1941.

Survivors are sons: Nick and Jack of Dickinson; Christ of New England; Nick J. of St. Paul; and Matt of St. Paul, and a daughter, Mrs. Robert Smith of St. Paul. Also surviving are 40 grandchildren, 70 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. One son proceeded her in death.

Mrs. Anton was a member of the St. Joseph's Verein of Lefor. Serving as pallbearers will be George Anton, Nick Anton Jr. Martin Anton, Ronald Anton, Carl Anton, and Matt Anton.

Anna was a remarkable woman, very active, even up until her death. She shoveled the side walks and did the housework. When she was single and living in Hungary, she worked for some of the richest people. She was a very good mother and grandmother even though she could speak very little English.
