Notes for Lillian Alice VEUM
LILLIAN A. KLOSS, 93, formerly of 1619 Bartlett Ave., Altoona, died Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at Oakwood Villa.  She was born in Independence, Wisconsin on January 18, 1908 the daughter of Halvor and Anna (Olson) Veum. 

Lillian married Alvin Kloss in Eleva, WI on April 10, 1928.  

She worked over 25 years as a nurse’s aide at the Northern Center for the Developmentally Disabled until her retirement in 1973.  After her retirement Lillian enjoyed traveling to Europe and Hawaii. She enjoyed country western music, word puzzles and reading.  She lived for her family, giving tirelessly of herself to her special granddaughter Susie for many years.

Lillian was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Altoona.

Survivors include her son, Alvin “Bud” of New Auburn;  daughter, Lois (Lowell) Olson of Altoona;  ten grandchildren, Susan Olson, Don (Joan) Olson and LuAnne Olson all of Altoona, Cheri (Ed) Kretschmer of Eden Prairie, MN,  Sandy (Herb) Endle,  Nanette (Mark Harings) Boehm and Katy (Scott) Haug all of Eau Claire,  Kirk (Sandra) Boehm of New Glarus, Vicki Loomis of Rockford, IL,,  Jay Kloss of New Auburn; thirteen great-grandchildren;   brother, Leon Veum of Fergus Falls, MN;  sister-in-law, Nora Veum of Eau Claire;  many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Duane and his wife, Lucille Kloss;  four brothers, Roy, Henry, James and Alvin Veum;  and her sister, Julia Gunderson.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2001 at the Ecumenical Center at Oakwood Villa, Altoona with Pastor David B. Karolus officiating.  Burial will be in Rest Haven Gardens Cemetery in the town of Washington.  Friends and relatives may call from 5 to 7 p.m. (Today) Wednesday, October 10, 2001 at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home and an hour prior to services Thursday at the Ecumenical Center. Please use the Oak Gardens parking lot entrance for the Ecumenical Center.

Grandma “Lynn” - We love you for your devotion and constant caring; we thank you for your generosity; and we remember you for your keen wit and superb sense of humor.  We will miss you more than words can say. God bless and keep you.
