Bekkejorden
Pronounced Bekkejolen. The name may be of the same origin as Bakkejorden, but most probably it is compounded(?) by bekk (stream) and jorde (field) - a separated field. Mentioned in 1665 as Bechiord. Bekkejorden is first menioned with Hegard in 1661, but the farm is probably older, see Stuvetra. The farm was taxed along with Hegard (??), but was a independent farm with 1 barrel in "yearly fee for leasing land".
Torkjell Gunnlaiksson got deed on debtparts after distribution of probate estate and in 1785 he sold the farm to Nils Olsson Lurås, married to Gunnhild Olsdatter. The farm now was sold in 1788 to Jon Gunleiksson, and further to Nils Torkjellsson in 1793, and in the same year to Svein Hansson.
Svein Hansson was married in 1784 to Kari Jonsdatter. She died in 1796 and had these children after herself: 1. Birgit Sveinsdatter, born 1787. 2. Gunne, born 1789. 3. Kari, born 1791. 4. Aslaug, born 1793.
The probate estate gave 306 rld net (riksdalar netto). Svein remarried 1797 with Gunnhild Olsdatter and they got two children. Gyry Sveinsdatter 1799 and Kari 1800.
