From Edel Gudmunsen via email 18 Mar 2011:
Gyda Marie, used the name Marie all her life. Harry (Korslund) is my uncle, my mothers youngest brother. I am 1 year older than him. He lives in Gjøvik. Mina lived in Biri all her life. Marie are raised there (Gyda Marie). Halstein was a lumbercutter, and floated lumber down the river.
They (Gyda Marie and Adolf) moved to Germany since Adolf worked for Mustad. They lived in a dorf called Bergedorf. Now it is in Hamburg. It has grown. I think my grandfather was there for app. 10 years. Grandmother came later. Margit and Anna went to school there.
From Edel Gudmunsen via email 6 Feb 2011:
I am not quite sure (when I asked her why Gyda Marie disappeared from census and other records after 1900), but I think she as well as the others had to go to work as soon as the confirmation was done. Then they were adults. I think they were poor, and they had to go to work. I will ask my uncle what they new about it. My grandmother married Adolf Korslund, but I do not know how they met. Anyway he was working for Mustad as an engineer and they lived in Germany for a few years. My mother was born there. She was a very clever woman. She was making all dresses for the girls and for grandchildren as well.
I will ask my uncle what he know about that, and I will contact all my cousins to get the data you need.
