Notes for Lionel Benjamin VEUM
Lionel held an auction to sell off the original Halvor Veum farm. An advertisement ran in the Winona Republican-Herald on Friday, March 23, 1945. The auction was held Tuesday, March 27, 1945.

When the Halvor Veum farm was auctioned by Lionel, the farm was purchased by Erna George, husband’s name unknown. They had a son named Wayne. They apparently sold the land to the DNR, which then became the Borst Valley Wildlife Area.
