Notes for Steven M. “Reggie” MOUSEL
Steven M. “Reggie” Mousel, age 55, of Elk Mound, died Monday, Sept. 18, 2006, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire after battling brain cancer.

Steve was born April 20, 1951, in Eau Claire, the son of Lawrence “Duke” and Eva (Rudahl) Mousel. He grew up in Elk Mound and graduated in 1969 from Elk Mound High School.

He worked for Zutter Feed Mill in Elk Mound for approximately 10 years. Steve also delivered fuel for Skelgas for several years. Steve married Virginia Fisher on March 31, 1979. During this time, Steve was proud of being a “stay at home” dad for about five years. They later divorced. Steve worked for Tri-Mart Corp. in Menomonie for more than 15 years.

Steve was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing and hunting. He had a real passion for grouse hunting. He was a member of several area softball leagues. He loved watching his kids playing in all sports. Above all, he was a loving and devoted father.

Steve is survived by a daughter, Kirsten Mousel of Elk Mound; two sons, Adam and Matthew, both of Eau Claire; his mother, Eva Mousel of Elk Mound; nine sisters, Jeanne Mousel of Milwaukee, Mary (Robert) Myers and Theresa (Albert) LaRock, both of Eau Claire, Barb Meyer of Sun Prairie, Judy (Randy) Mayer of Fairfax Station, Va., Patty (Bob) Marlette of Boyceville, Debbie (Kevin) Swartz of Elk Mound, Carrie (Don) Wirth of Hudson, and Rose (Ronnie) Hopper of Romeoville, Ill.; three brothers, Tim (Brenda) and Bob (Vickie), both of Eau Claire, and Tom (Pam) Mousel of Colfax; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence, in 2004, and a brother-in-law, Anoop Dhillon.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elk Mound with the Rev. Victor Inbaraj officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie, where a prayer service is scheduled at 7:30 p.m., and one hour prior to services Friday at the church.

Rhiel’s Funeral Service in Menomonie is serving the family.
